Rochester Police confirm that an officer fired his weapon to kill a dog that was attacking a woman.
It happened around 10:45 a.m. Tuesday on Dejonge Street, near the intersection of Remington Street.
Police say the woman suffered a five-inch laceration to her torso after being bit by the dog.
When an ambulance crew arrived, they were not able to get to the woman to treat her because of the threatening dog.
Police were called and shot the dog because of its threatening behavior.
