The shooting on Pullman Avenue has led to precautions at the Monroe County District Attorney's Office.
The office, located in the Watts Building on Fitzhugh Street, was locked down Wednesday afternoon and remained so into the evening.
The Monroe County District Attorney's office says Marcus Freeman was indicted in June on a first degree rape charge. District Attorney Sandra Doorley said Freeman was out on bail when he allegedly shot two people.
"There was information that was conveyed to us that we interpreted as a potential threat to either members of our office or members of my DA staff, so in the abundance of caution, after conferring with other people, we decided to lock down the DA's office, not let civilians in, and to escort our assistant DA's to court," said Doorley.
Doorley says the office will have increased security until Freeman is in custody.
