The Churchville-Chili school district always holds a celebration the first Friday night of the school year, and this year, they're doing it in new digs.
The festivities began tonight with a ribbon-cutting at the brand new Churchville-Chili Performing Arts Center. The center is part of the district's capital improvement project.
Students took full advantage, taking the stage for the center's first public appearances. Families checked out the finished product touring the new performing arts facility.
Administrators say the project positions them for the future.
"The real value of the project is the educational spaces that it created for our kids. Our science classes are state-of-the-art. I believe our performing Arts Center is state-of-the-art.
A dance studio, we have classrooms equipped for wifi, online learning, so we're really well-positioned here to keep moving forward," said Bill Geraci, senior high principal
Families also got a chance to view a video illustrating the history of the district's capital improvement project.
