The University of Rochester and the city teamed up to put on a Women's Health Screening fair Saturday morning at the Public Market.
The annual fair offered free health screenings for women ages between the ages of 18 to 80. It provides health information from doctors and nurses. More than 30 health organizations participated this year.
"Every year we hear new stories of someone who had an elevated blood pressure they were not aware of, an elevated blood glucose they were not aware of," said Dr. J Woods of the University of Rochester Medical Center. "Or they have family histories that they were not aware could impact on their lives as well. So this gives them the opportunity to think about themselves, to think about their family, to review their family history."
The Women's health screening fair is in its 5th year.
