One of the largest independent senior living communities in our area has created a new program to promote healthy aging. Legacy is now offering a wellness program tailored to each of its residents.
Legacy has put together an advisory board of doctors, mentors, coaches and spiritual leaders to help expand wellness programs and activities at every Legacy community.
The Legacy Living Very Well initiative is designed with residents physical, creative, emotional, social, vocational and spiritual components of wellness in mind.
Residents will be able to track their individual efforts and participation in an Individual Wellness Account.
"We want to provide the resident with the tools and give them the autonomy to choose while still helping them along the way. We want the families to be involved with their parents as well, it is a huge component," said Steve DiMarzo, Legacy COO.
Legacy has Wellness Workshops planned each month. November will focus on spirituality.
Legacy operates eight locations in Monroe County and one in Ontario County.
