Hillside Family of Agencies finished up its commemorative brick project Wednesday. The nonprofit human services organization raised $14,000 through the brick campaign.
Hillside celebrated the effort by inviting families and staff who purchased an engraved brick to see the finished project. The 175 bricks are at the base of Hillside's flag pole in the center of campus.
Hillside is celebrating more than 175 years of helping area youth with education, mental health and developmental disabilities services. Funds from the brick project will be used for the future.
"These are donors who want us to be here for many more years, so the funds from the bricks will go toward our continued sustainability," said Dennis Richardson, Hillside president & CEO. "It's not for a particular project, per se, but the long term sustainability, so that we have an endowment to call upon so we can help folks who at times government money doesn't pay for."
The Hillside campus underwent a $22 million, 12-year renovation project which ended last year.
