A Pennsylvania man is facing involuntary manslaughter charges in connection to a crash on Interstate 81 that killed a twin brother and sister from Rochester.
The Lackawanna County deputy District Attorney tells YNN that Wayne Kichar, 35, of Jessup, is facing homicide by motor vehicle and involuntary manslaughter charges. He was arrested by police Wednesday after missing a court appearance on an unrelated incident.
Kichar is accused of killing William and Lynn McKernan in a crash on I-81 in Pennsylvania in October of 2011.
Authorities say Kichar was driving a dump truck when he failed to negotiate a curve, lost control of the truck, went airborne and hit the roof of McKernan's car while they were traveling to New York City to celebrate their 40th birthday.
Kichar is accused of being under the influence of the synthetic marijuana "spice" at the time of the crash.
Kichar's bail has been revoked. He will appear back in court on Sept. 24.
The family for William and Lynn McKernan have filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Kichar.
