Dozens of people camped out at Joe's Crab Shack on Marketplace Drive in Henrietta to get the anniversary special. The seafood restaurant celebrated its second anniversary by giving out vouchers for free buckets of crab for a year.
The first 100 people in the door today for lunch will now get to enjoy free steamed crab legs once a month until next September.
Alan Davidson was the first in line. Davidson's kind of an self-proclaimed expert at this first-in-line thing. He was the first at the Dairy Queen grand opening, East Avenue Wegmans, Buffalo Wild Wings and the McDonald's grand opening in Webster.
"It is sort of a gratifying feeling," said Davidson. "It is like going out on the basketball court and scoring a 100 points in one game."
"I love seafood," said Jonelle Redhead. "My family is from the islands so seafood all the way, so when she said king crab and I was like what is it for a year okay, I will see you in the morning."
This time around, Erin Weber joined the wait before heading to work.
"Today is my birthday and I love king crab so when I heard about this, I couldn't pass it up," said Weber.
Joe's Crab Shack says vouchers can be redemed once a month and do not require any additional purchase.
