Rochester Marathon runner Lindsay Kukla raised more than $3,000 through sponsors.
The money will go to her friend, a local Boston bombing victim Gina DiMartino and her family. Kukla now lives in Boston but used to live in Rochester.
Gina, her brother, and his girlfriend were injured at the finish line during the bombing.
DiMartino greeted Kukla at the finish line. Sunday was the first marathon she's attended since the attack.
"I was a little nervous but it was good," said DiMartino. "I think it was a good obstacle to overcome being able to be here and support Lindsay, being in the crowd and be cheering for runners again. I mean the last time I did it we were cheering for my mom."
Gina's right leg was seriously injured. She says she still faces a long road toward full recovery.
