A judge in Seneca County says statements made to police by the man accused of killing his own son will be allowed at court.
Statements also made by Karl Karlsen to his current wife while she wore a wire will also be admitted at trial.
Karlsen is accused of causing a pickup truck to fall off a jack in 2008, crushing Levi Karlsen underneath it.
He's also charged with fraud for filing a will for his son the day before Levi's death. In it, everything was left to his father, including custody of Levi's two children and the $700,000 life insurance policy taken out only a few weeks earlier.
Karlsen's trial is set to begin Oct. 21.
