The Ontario County man accused of kidnapping a Florida woman and holding her captive in Steuben County has been determined competent to stand trial.
Brandon Todd, 19, of Naples underwent a mental evaluation following his arrest this summer.
Todd is charged with human trafficking, kidnapping and rape. According to investigators, he met a woman on a bus from Florida to California. He then allegedly took her to his grandparents' home in Steuben County and repeatedly raped her over the course of three weeks.
While the defense is not contesting Thursday's ruling, the detention hearing did not wrap up because both the prosecution and defense will still be submitting more information.
