Despite the rain Sunday morning, the Flower City Down Syndrome Network held its largest annual fundraiser called the Buddy Walk.
About a thousand people came out for the one mile walk, which celebrates the many abilities and accomplishments of people with Down Syndrome.
There are 250 Buddy Walks across the country annually. Money raised from this year's walk will go towards social group programs, parent support meetings and education programs for the kids.
"The last letter in our name is network of families to all share a knowledge database with each other family and friends so it's extremely important,"said Chris Tumminelli, President of the Flower City Down Syndrome Network.
The network has been serving the families and community members of the Rochester area since 1991.
