Organizers of "Fashion Week Rochester" used the Panache Consignment Shop in Brighton as a backdrop to announce details of this year's Fashion Week. The annual event is a major fundraiser for The Center for Youth.
On Wednesday, Oct. 16 at the Memorial Art Gallery, you can take part in the "Switch & Swap." Participants trade gently-used fashions with new-to-you items.
Organizers say it's all about second chances.
"It's important because in many ways at the Center for Youth, we give kids a second chance. We are all about fashion week and the Center for youth coming together, and we're giving clothes a second chance and we're giving kids a second chance. It's never too late to have a happy childhood and it's never too late for a dress to have a new life," said Elaine Spaull, Center For Youth.
Tickets to the Switch & Swap are $20.
This year, Verizon is also accepting and donating cell phones to The Center to keep kids safe in emergency situations.
