Rochester General Health System has dedicated its new Ambulatory Surgery Center.
The 29,000 square foot facility is an expansion to medical offices located on Linden Oaks Drive in Penfield. The complex includes six operating rooms and two minor procedure rooms.
Rochester General began the project in March 2012 to meet the community's increased demand for ambulatory care.
The outpatient facility opens Oct. 22, expanding service to east side patients.
"We do outpatient procedures, orthopedic, ear nose and throat, plastic surgery, podiatry, and general surgery are the specialties that we offer here. All of those are outpatient, meaning patients walk in and leave on the same day," said Jeff Peacock, Rochester Ambulatory Surgery Center.
The new center replaces the health system's Lattimore Community Surgicenter.
