The city of Rochester is encouraging more people to get out and ride their bicycles.
Bike boxes are being installed at three intersections in the city. The boxes are painted on the road to improve visibility of bicyclists waiting at traffic lights. They'll be placed at the intersections of Monroe Ave. and South Goodman Street, Ford Street and Mt. Hope Avenue, and University Avenue and East Main Street.
Rochester is the first municipality in upstate New York to install the boxes.
