Kids helping kids is the essence of The Household Sale to raise money for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Rochester.
The toy exchange asks kids to help out by donating a toy. They then receive a $4 off voucher to the toy department for a new one.
The sale at Rochester Tech Park is the charity's largest fundraiser of the year, and more than 20,000 shoppers came out last year alone. It's open to the public starting on Wednesday and ends on Sunday.
"We actually fill 74,000 square feet with goods that have been donated to us for the purpose of being resold so we can raise money to keep our houses – we have two Ronald McDonald House Programs in Rochester – to help keep them going," said Carol DeMoulin, RMHC of Rochester president.
Last year's sale raised more than $350,000 for the charity.
