During the Rose Chase proceedings Thursday, Judge William Kocher said someone threatened to kill him. A Victor man is now facing charges for those alleged threats.
The alleged threats have nothing to do with the Chase trial, but the judge in that case was target of those threats, according to police.
Frederick Thompson appeared in Victor Town Court on Thursday afternoon to answer to a single count of misdemeanor harassment.
State Police say Thompson made repeated threats against the Ontario County Court judge. According to investigators, those threats against Judge Kocher were made over a three-day period.
The judge made reference to the incidents in court Thursday, saying someone "threatened to kill him" and that it all stemmed from an unrelated family court case.
Thompson was already in custody in Monroe County on criminal mischief charges stemming from a case in Henrietta.
Thompson pleaded not guilty. His bail was set at $2,500 cash, or $5,000 bond.
