The State Education Commissioner has announced plans for 12 forums to be held in school districts across the state, including here in Rochester.
This announcement comes on the heels of town hall meetings across the state set for last week being canceled. Commissioner John King said disruptions by special interests groups at the first forum were to blame.
The purpose of the forums will be to discuss Common Core standards and the education reforms approved by the State Board of Regents with parents and faculty.
The Rochester forum will be held Dec. 3 and will be televised by WXXI.
Board of Regents members will also be present at the events.
