The ribbon-cutting and dedication ceremony for the Wegmans School of Nursing Simulation Center at St. John Fisher College was held Tuesday afternoon.
It's a center that gives nursing students hands-on experience in an actual hospital unit with five simulation rooms.
In addition to the simulation rooms, students and faculty have new classrooms, offices, a control room and debriefing rooms.
"It does feel very real when you're in there, which is funny because the mannequins don't look that real, but it's a realistic setting and things change based on your interventions and you do have an impact on the situation," said student Beth LaFrance.
Construction began in January and was completed last month. The two-story addition adds more than 10,000 square feet to the school.
