A new program at several Upstate New York airports Thursday will get some passengers through security faster.
With the TSA Pre-Check, frequent flyers can move through airports in Syracuse, Albany, Buffalo-Niagara, Rochester and Westchester County quickly.
Pre-approved passengers of the program get to use select screening lanes, and do not have to remove shoes, belts and can keep laptops in their case.
Those flying on American, Delta, United or U.S. Airways can already take advantage of the program. At ROC, other airlines are expected to join the program in the near future.
"Passengers flying on Jet Blue and Southwest will be eligible once those airlines are ready to join the program here in Rochester," said Rochester federal security director John McCaffrey.
The TSA says more than 19 million Americans across the country have taken advantage of the program since it launched nearly two years ago.
