Lt. Governor Bob Duffy did interview for the top job at the Rochester Business Alliance back on Oct. 5.
According to Governor Andrew Cuomo's spokesperson, Duffy voluntarily withdrew his name a week to 10 days after interviewing.
Current RBA CEO Sandy Parker has already announced her intention to retire, but announced this week she was delaying that retirement but gave no definitive date.
The spokesperson said Duffy did not inform Governor Cuomo until after he interviewed, but added that Cuomo did not pressure him to withdraw his name.
Duffy said since the interview, he's recused himself from any duties related to the RBA.
Parker originally planned to step down Jan. 1.
Duffy has not ruled out the possibility of applying for the job in the future.
