The students at Ivan Green Elementary School celebrated living healthy lifestyles today as part of Red Ribbon Week. The school held a Zumba dance session for students in grades K through 2nd.
Red Ribbon Week is dedicated to teaching kids about the dangers of drugs and the importance of living a healthy lifestyle.
The school decided to spend the last day of Red Ribbon Week holding a dance party in the gym to get the kids active and moving.
"I think that they realize that it's really important to move, not just when it's a big sport or whatever but to get up during the day. It's really important to fit that movement in during your day," said principal Dr. Deborah Decker.
Red Ribbon Week is held every year during the last full week of October.
