The Rochester Fencing club held its annual tournament in memory of a teen who died in a car accident while traveling to a fencing event in 2007.
Ben Gutenberg joined the RFC at age 11, and fenced for William and Mary College in Virginia.
All proceeds from the tournament go toward a memorial fund in his name. The event runs today and tomorrow at the Gates-Chili Spartan Field House.
"It's a great place to be. If you ever want to check out swashbuckling, you have it really live in action here," said Felicia Zimmermann, co-founder of the Rochester Fencing Club. "We have kids from around the country as well as from Canada that have come down. We have 600 entries for this weekend for Saturday and Sunday."
The Rochester Fencing Club was established in the 1980's and has since produced two World Champions.
