It was a welcome to the family celebration for Hickey Freeman employees on Wednesday.
The Canadian menswear-brand Samuelsohn Limited recently bought the company, promising to expand business and bring more jobs to Rochester.
The company updated employees on future plans and celebrated the acquisition with a luncheon.
"The magic of Hickey Freeman, the real reason we bought the company if you want to call it a competitive advantage. It all stems from the people inside that room. We make a garment that is second to none and that's why our customers buy our product, and they need to understand that we appreciate that," said CEO Stephen Granovsky.
Hickey Freeman has been a part of the Rochester community for 114 years.
Samuelsohn has more than 250 department stores in North America. It signed a 40-year lease agreement with Hickey Freeman.
