It's the offseason, but the Red Wings is giving fans reason to celebrate.
"We just felt it was time for a little bit of a change," said Dan Mason, Red Wings general manager.
More than a half a dozen new logos were introduced to fans at the teams clubhouse.
"Every logo that I've seen from the Red Wings I love. It represents the best thing in Rochester to me," said Pat Ross.
That's why Ross, a die hard fan, won't mind adding more ink to his tattoo collection.
Fans gave the team's fresh face a stamp of approval.
"Actually, it looks a little bit more fierce so maybe they will play that way," said Chris Kelly, Red Wings Fan.
Even if you're still hooked on the old logo, the good news is it will still be available to fans at the merchandise store.
"Older logos, even ones that date back to the 50s and 60s, are still available in the store because fans do love those and they're sort of iconic," said Naomi Silver, President and CEO.
Mason says this move was quite an investment.
"There is certainly an expense when you try and rebrand your franchise but we feel it's worth it," said Mason.
"This might be the logo that brings us to our next championship," said Ross.
The team will be selling the new gear at Frontier Field merchandise store through Saturday afternoon.
