IntoNow

Yahoo's "IntoNow" app, which is designed to be very social, represents an app that will be widely available in the coming year — a program that listens to what program is on TV and then offers relevant content.

Users start it up by signing in either with an email, Facebook or Twitter account. After hitting a green button, "IntoNow" resembles the apps that tell what song is on the radio, except it figures out which television program is on, and primarily serves up discussions people are having at about the show at that moment or in the past.

If something like a football game is on TV, the user will get stats, news articles and all sorts of related information.

Users who are logged in through Facebook can display what they are watching and see what friends are watching, so that groups of friend can potentially tune in to the same thing and chat together all their own separate living room couches.

"IntoNow" for iOS and Android devices is free.

MadPad

A new social way to make music comes from the "MadPad" app by Smule, the same developers of the popular social music-making apps like "Ocarina" and "Magic Fiddle."

This app samples sounds from real life, and the kitchen is usually a good place to start. Once a user fills 12 tabs, he or she can start tapping away to create. Users can then share their creations and sound samples through social media or download samples others have made.

A warning to users, though, soon no sound in the world will go unnoticed by a "MadPad" fan. Every little tick, tap or hum will have you wondering how that would sound in your next masterpiece.

"MadPad" is right now for iOS devices only, and the iPhone and iPod Touch versions are 99 cents, and the HD iPad app is $2.99.
