The maker of
Doctors Carbrite Diet bars are recalling one of its products.
The New Jersey company says its 2 ounce Chocolate Brownie diet bar is missing an allergen statement on the packaging. The statement is supposed to read, "Allergy Alert: Made on equipment that also processes soy, milk, egg, peanuts and tree nuts."
The bars are sold any many area stores. Consumers are asked to return the bars for a refund or credit. You may also call Doctor's Carbrite Diet directly at 732-545-3130, Monday - Friday with questions.
Two kinds of Carob products sold at health food stores in New York and other nearby states are also being recalled.
They come from Simple Foods of Tonawanda in Erie County. The Carob Brown Rice Crunch Square and the Carob Mint Miniatures both have milk in them, which is not on the label. That could cause problems for people who have an allergy.
Consumers are advised to return the bars to the store for a refund.
