The are many end-of-summer deals available for travelers through beyond Labor Day.
A swanky new hotel in Newport, R.I., Forty 1° North, is positioning itself as a top-tier player on the harborfront. It has taken over the space which was once occupied by Christie’s restaurant, a long-time favorite for informal dining.
Now, Christie’s has reappeared nearby in a stylish incarnation.
It’s state-of-the-art everything in Forty 1° North. They don’t have key cards, but key fobs, and every room gets an iPad.
There is a $395 midweek D’Elia’s Deal at Forty 1° North for Sunday through Thursday stays through November 30, excluding some blackout dates such as Labor Day. Visit www.41north.com for details.
If you are delivering a college-bound student to Boston or want to take in the Yankees-Red Sox rivalry the first weekend of October, the Hotel Indigo may be just the ticket.
This hotel about 20 minutes on the outskirts of Beantown is a surprise find in Newton, Mass. The 191-room boutique style hotel has an outdoor swimming pool, cabanas and a happening restaurant called Bokx 109.
A one-night stay for two includes a $150 food and beverage credit with continental breakfast and parking starting at $229 per room on the weekends.
A separate deal for baseball fans: show one's Red Sox tickets and get a $139 nightly room rate, along with a roundtrip ride on the T to Fenway.

You might be able to score a last minute room on Block Island, R.I. by checking in at the Chamber of Commerce office, but why bother when the crowds and prices dip after Labor Day. After then, a room from Block Island Reservations can be as low as $89 midweek. Plus there are a variety of packages available, including ferry tickets, bike rentals, restaurant credits and even spa treatments.
