From Hydesville, to Rochester, to a world stage; two young women convinced millions that the dead aren't dead. Spiritualists say in 1848 Kate and Maggie Fox learned to communicate with spirits. Older sister Leah, at first their guardian, soon became their business manager.

Despite intense interest from a willing and paying public, both Kate and Maggie never seemed to find financial stability. With a lack of family and social support the young women would soon fall on difficult times.
