Monroe County Legislator Willie Lightfoot's time on the Airport Authority Board is over.
Lightfoot announced Wednesday he had decided to step down as the Democratic appointee on on the board.
Monroe County Republicans voted in May to remove Lightfoot from his post. Moments after that vote, Lightfoot said he'd rather be home with his family than in a "room full of crooks."
Lightfoot said he wished his time on the board was more fruitful but believes Democrats are not welcome on the board.
A recommendation to appoint legislator Cindy Kaleh in Lightfoot's place has been sent County Executive Maggie Brooks.
