State Canal System Closed
The storm also forced the entire New York state canal system to be closed.
Guard gates and lift bridges will be lowered statewide to prevent damage from the wind. Water levels were lowered over the weekend to help prevent flooding.
More actions may be taken as needed to minimize damage.
