Red Wings lose tenth in eleven
Pawtucket got two late runs while Kris Johnson and the Red Sox held Rochester to just five hits in a 2-0 loss Saturday night.
Cole DeVries pitched well for the Red Wings, allowing just three hits and striking out four through five and third innings. Jeremy Hermida scored the first run of the game in the seventh and drove in the other in the eighth for the Red Sox.
The loss was Rochester's tenth in their last eleven games.
Frontier Field was packed with over 10,000 fans for post-game fireworks and pregame festivities. Military personnel were honored along with three new inductees into the Rochester Red Wings Hall of Fame; Elmer Fairchild, Paul Mitchell and Chris Hoiles.
The teams conclude the four-game series Sunday. The Red Wings leave Monday for their final road trip of the season.
