"I'm not worried at all. I don't listen, I don't read," said Lindy Ruff.

It's just the reality of the business. Any time a team sinks into such a slump, the status of the head coach is called into question.

It's nothing new for Ruff. He went through it before the lockout, early last season, and again now. With the hockey club sinking to the bottom of the Eastern Conference, questions are out, and patience is thin.

"It wears on everybody, it's a tough stretch. I've been through tough stretches. It was just as tough last year at times," said Ruff.

"Our focus is on Lindy to be there. We want to win with him and Darcy. We've been a part of this for a long time and it's no different for them," said Jason Pominville. "We're all in this together. It's all been tough. It's all been hard. It's not been fun. We all want to win and want to get back on track together."

"It's not the first time, it won't be the last time. That kind of stuff doesn't have any effect on the locker room," said Tyler Myers.

Production continues to be the problem. You can look at top players like Derek Roy and Drew Stafford. Stafford's been held to just 23 points so far this season. It's part of the reason that the Sabres managed three goals in just one of their last nine games.

As far as a solution, players are holding firm that change must come from within.

"Bottom line is; it hasn't been good, but I'm doing my best to keep looking forward," said Stafford.

"We've said in the past that changing one player, two players, isn't going to solve the problem. It has to come within the group. We have to find a way, and pretty quick here," Pominville said.

It will have to be sustained. Only 34 games remain for the Sabres to make up a 10 point deficit.
