Six student athletes signed their letters of intent Wednesday during an afternoon ceremony at Aquinas Institute.
Lacrosse players Eric Wischmeyer, Jake Vogl and Marc Pettrone will attend Fairfield, Hartford and West Point, respectively.
Three football players also signed. Quarterback Cory Benedetto will play for Campbell University. Wide receiver and defensive back Jamahl Pardner heads to Pittsburgh, while defensive lineman Jarron Jones accepted a scholarship to Notre Dame.
"There wasn't really much thought that went into it because Notre Dame just reminds me a lot of Aquinas. We have a family here, a big Christian community, a lot of opportunities were given to me through Aquinas so I'm hoping for the same when I go to Notre Dame," said Jones.
"It feels great because we all do this for each other. We all work hard together and these guys are my brothers. They're no longer my teammates but they'll always be my brothers," said Pardner.
