BUFFALO, N.Y. — Lindy Ruff had a bird's eye view of Wednesday night's 6-0 win over the Bruins.

"It's an easy game from up there. I had to keep my finger off the button because you want to evaluate almost every play, but I thought our team really played well," said Ruff.

Still recovering from three broken ribs, Ruff watched from the coaches' box, and what he saw was a Sabres club that took the fight to the defending Stanley Cup champs.

"I think it did set the tone. We wanted them to know that we were coming out to play," said Ruff.

"It feels good especially to win like we did, and especially against Boston always feels good. I think we're turning the corner and playing well right now. We're doing all the little things," said Tyler Ennis.

It's resulted in the Sabres' best run since the beginning of the season.

"We've been doing a lot better job lately. Once you have the puck, it's easier to play and you have a lot more fun playing. Obviously, the chemistry is one thing you can work on, but it seems to be working better right now," said Ville Leino.

Leino is one of the players whose production has improved of late. The forward has four points in his last four games.

"It takes time to fit. It takes time to be with a new team and get used to what the team is demanding and what the teammates are like. I think he's starting to fit in better, which shows up on the ice," said Ruff.

The Sabres certainly dug themselves a huge hole with a first half of the season slump. They'll need more of what they've had the last five games if they want to continue the push toward the playoffs. That march rolls on Friday night against the Dallas Stars.
