After an All-American high school and college career, Rush-Henrietta's Shenise Johnson will continue to play basketball in the WNBA. The San Antonio Silver Stars made her the fifth overall pick in Monday's WNBA draft.
The 5'11 guard averaged nearly 17 points a game during her senior season at Miami and was named a second team All-American in leading the Hurricanes to a 26-6 record.
Johnson becomes the second former Section V player to be drafted into the WNBA. Beth Record of Red Jacket, who played at Syracuse, was chosen 4th overall in 2001.
