ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — It's relatively the same. No contact, no pads, basic work.

But much longer days: nearly two hour practices, extended meetings, and as much as 13 hours of total time.

“Now we go back and we go through things we install faster. We’ll get a lot more walkthroughs or even when we go through our defensive side, we’ll just get real fast reps as far as trying to make sure on our P’s and Q’s,” said Mario Williams, defensive end.

“I think consistency happens in the offseason when we are out here with the 10 OTA sessions and the mini-camp, being able to build on what we did last year,” said Ryan Fitzpatrick, quarterback.

As expected, the beginning of training camp was a chance for Stevie Johnson to return to full participation. He was able to take about ten snaps in 11-on-11 work, and feels well on the way to recovery.

“As far as my groin, I haven't felt this good since before this happened in training camp,” Johnson said. “I felt like come season time, I'll be good. I won't have any tightness or fatigue late in games. I'll be good to go.”

The Bills break camp Thursday, and then take 5 weeks off before training camp begins July 27th.
