Looking towards Kyle Williams

By: YNN Staff

Throughout the OTAs and mini-camp, the Bills have been very clear about one major point - the success of their conversion to a 4-3 defense is highly contingent on the play of the defensive line. Once training camp opens, the team expects to get the full contributions of one of the line's leaders. Kyle Williams was injured just five games into last season, and was a major loss for the Bills. He underwent surgery to repair some bone chips in his foot, and recovered well ahead of schedule. Williams was able to participate in some drills on day one of OTAs, and by the end of mini-camp had elevated himself to full participation.

"As far as the timeline laid out for me by our doctors, I was ahead of schedule," Williams said at mini-camp. "I have been and I guess I still am. I still have a month or so before we start training camp, and two months before we play a game - or more. I still have some healing time left, so I should make it all the way back by the start of the season."

The Bills open training camp July 27.
