Syracuse football held a mini-camp at Fort Drum, culminating in a Saturday scrimmage. The players lived and ate meals with the soldiers in a team building exercise.

The question is not "what position will former Rush-Henrietta star Ashton Broyld play at Syracuse?" The question is what position won't he play?

Broyld, wearing Number One in green, started the day out as an up-back on the return team.

Then, the freshman played some tailback out of the shotgun formation.

His natural position, Wildcat quarterback, he didn't see much time there.

How about as a decoy on the misdirection pitch for a score for David Stevens?

Next, screen pass receiver for Ryan Nassib and a big gain.

And then the payoff on the handoff from Nassib.

Overall, the Syracuse Head Coach said the team enjoyed the experience but on the field, not so much.

"I think today showed that we've got a long way to go. I mean, we're not ready to play right now, in a game-like situation" says Doug Marrone, Syracuse Football Head Coach. "We gotta continue to work, we're gonna look at the tape, there are things that have gone on today, some you can see, some you can't but obviously, we need to make some vast improvement."

The Orangemen will play Northwestern at the Carrier Dome September 1st.
