For the second week, the Bills had the same problem: a poor second half. Poor, really, would be a compliment for that showing. It left Chan Gailey searching for answers following the game.

"Obviously, something I'm not doing correctly with this football team in the second half," said the head coach. "Because, we've been in two games in a row at half time and played extremely poorly, and that's as nice as you can put it, in the second half. Two weeks in a row."

It's ironic how things worked out, a week ago we were worried about the Bills against Tom Brady's passing attack. It was the Patriots rush that keyed the win. Yesterday, we wondered how they'd fare against the San Francisco rush. They were just schooled in the passing game.

Really, it was all facets of the defensive performance. The Bills allowed 621 yards. That makes them the first team since 1950 to allow more than 550 in back to back weeks. Alex Smith, who averaged less than 200 yards per game coming in, threw for 303 with three touchdowns. Last week, the Bills allowed two different 100 yard rushers. That didn't happen this week. However, the 49ers rushed for 311 as a team, and we saw three different players carry the ball into the end zone. Additionally, the Bills offense barely put up 200 yards, highlighted by Ryan Fitzpatrick, who was held to 126 yards passing.

"It's two weeks in a row," noted the quarterback. "Obviously, not the way we wanted to come out and play. Offensively, we just never got anything going. I feel like that's not who who we are as an offense but unfortunately that's what we put out there."

Maybe the only stat that's actually needed is 45-3: the score. That's two straight blowouts. They won't be coming home this week. The Bills are staying on the West Coast to prepare for the Cardinals next Sunday. Perhaps spending a week together as a team is what they need to get past this miserable two game stretch.
