Leaders Looking to Step Up for Bills in Tough Stretch
Time for the veteran leaders to step up. The Bills sit at 3-4 and travel to two of the top teams in the AFC the next few weekends. First up, Sunday at the 6-1 Texans followed by a trip to New England. This stretch of games will be quite a test for a team that has made inconsistency a habit.
"If our team is going to get where we want to be, we have to understand accountability to each other," head coach Chan Gailey said. "I think they understand that and we just have to continue to grasp that. Yes, you want your leaders to step up, understand where we are and what we have to get done."
Rookie cornerback Ron Brooks has been activated from injured reserve. The fourth rounder broke his foot back in August and was placed on IR. This is the first year the NFL allows each team to bring back one player place on IR.
To make room on the roster, the Bills shut down offensive linemen Chad Rinehart for the season. Offensive lineman Eric Pears and cornerback Terrence McGee are both doubtful for Sunday's game in Houston.
