Peters Speaks on NHL Lockout as More Games are Lost
There's another round of cancellations due to the NHL lockout. The league announced Thursday all games are wiped out through January 14th. That means 625 games, or more than 50 percent of the season has now officially been lost.

We caught up with former Sabre and YNN hockey analyst Andrew Peters, as he was co-hosting Hockey Hotline on WGR radio along with Kevin Sylvester.

Peters was a player during the last lockout, which erased the entire 2004-2005 season. He's disappointed the same possibility is looming just eight years later.

"We thought we were doing something for a purpose," Peters said. "Clearly, that all went to waste. But not yet, I feel like there's a reason why these players are doing what they're doing now. You know that in the end, players will make their money, and owners, they're franchises will go up if they can get things working. I'd just like to see a little more push."

"People don't care because athletes make so much money, but there are guys out there who's livelihoods are being affected," he continued. "Aside from all the money and the dollars and cents, because that's all nonsense right now because it doesn't matter. I think we've all kind of lost focus of what's truly important, and that's getting the great game back on the ice."
