Latest loss leaves Bills players frustrated

By: Don Heins

It's an all too familiar tale, the Bills stumbling to another poor finish. Predictably, players displayed a palpable level of frustration in their post game comments. Its best to just let them tell this story in their own words.

"We could've played harder," said Marcell Dareus. "We could've finished it. You can't beat the referees for one thing. That's just how the game went."

"We made a lot of mistakes out there on both sides of the ball, everywhere," added Nick Barnett. "That's not good enough."

"At the end of the day, you can't come out here and lay eggs on Sunday," stated George Wilson. "Especially when you have a good week of practice and preparation. At the end of the day, this game boils down to execution on game day in the very situations that arise throughout the course of the game. They handled the situation better than we did."

On the question of effort, and how the Bills can get up for the season finale with the Jets, Ryan Fitzpatrick offered this response.

"This is not the result we wanted," he said. "I think in terms of guys showing up next week and playing, I don't think there's anything you every have to question about our football team. I think this is a very very disappointing loss though."

And it sets up another anticlimactic finale next week against the Jets in Orchard Park.
