BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Sabres have dropped back-to-back games and five of their last seven, giving add importance to Friday's home date with the Boston Bruins.

Buffalo sits at the bottom of the Eastern Conference, with just 11 points in 14 games. Things don't get any easier with the Bruins coming to town.

Boston is currently at the top of the Northeast Division, and if Buffalo is going to make a run towards the top team, they know it starts with cleaning up their own game.

"There really isn't a big difference between winning games and losing games, and taking care of the puck, and being good with it is a big part of the game," said captain Jason Pominville. "When you slip away from it for five or 10 minutes in a game, other teams will make you pay for it and we have to make sure that we are consistent at it."

Finding their consistency isn't going to come easy against Boston. The Bruins are looking to win their fifth straight road game, including a 3-1 win over the Sabres at First Niagara Center on Sunday.

Puck drop is set for 7 p.m. Friday.
