ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. - The Bills continue to make moves for the future. Saturday the organization extended assistant GM Doug Whaley. Sunday, they cut ties with David Nelson.
The latter move comes as a bit of a surprise - the announcement coming on the team's website. The Bills elected not to tender Nelson a contract offer after the wide receiver tore his ACL in the 2012 season opener.
Nelson caught 61 passes for 658 yards and 5 touchdowns in 2011. The 26-year-old will become a free agent March 12. Remember, the Bills also cut ties with Donald Jones earlier this offseason.
