Bills head coach Doug Marrone has a need for speed, at least when it comes to his football players. So the Bills went out and drafted the fastest player in this year's class.
Marquise Goodwin and the rest of the first year guys wrapped up rookie mini-camp on Sunday. The Texas product was officially timed at blazing 4.27 seconds in the 40-yard dash at the combine.
Last year around this time, he was ramping up to compete in the London Olympics as a long-jumper. Now the third round pick will try to put that athleticism to use in the Bills revamped receiving corps.
"Here we got receivers everywhere making plays, guys making one-handed catches, making pressure catches, traffic catches in the middle," Goodwin said. "We got an all around team at the receiver position as well other positions here. I'm just looking forward to the vets getting in here and we'll have even more talent at the receiver position."
