Plenty of positives came out of the effort, but in the end, the Bills failed to capitalize on opportunities. It was a classic matchup of an inexperienced team not being able to get it done against the Tom Brady-Bill Belichick combo.
They had two chances to kill the clock - or even extend the lead - just before Brady's late drive. One of the killer plays was in the final nine minutes.
On 3rd and 1, Stevie Johnson, who said earlier in the week that the Patriots couldn't stop him, had a crucial drop that killed an important drive; and put the ball back in Brady's hands.
"It looked like the play should have been made, but... with me extending how I did it was like my... just got my hands on the ball. I feel like it was harder than what it was, what really happened. But looking at the film, yeah because I was wide open," Johnson said.
