Day three of Sabres training camp on Friday. The team practiced and scrimmaged before hitting the golf course for some fun in Hamburg at the team's sixth annual Sabres Golf tournament.
Young defenseman Tyler Myers struggled in the first year of a big contract. This offseason he took a renewed focus to conditioning, training in Buffalo and bringing a Sabres strength intern to his home.
The 23-year-old is also trying to make changes to the mental side of his game as he enters his fifth NHL season.
"You have a year like you did last year, you want to change some things. I’ll be the first to say, that’s not me as a player last year. I have to be much better, and it’s just a matter of taking it day-by-day and focusing on improving each and every day, right up until that first game, and then continuing that through throughout the season," Myers said.
