Certainly a tough loss for the Buffalo Bills and injuries again proved to be a key storyline with this team. The big losses on Thursday, include wide receiver Stevie Johnson who left the game with a back injury and rookie quarterback E.J. Manuel who left with a sprained knee. The Bills actually took the lead after Manuel left the game in the third quarter but backup and fellow rookie Jeff Tuel was unable to make the big plays with the game still in the balance.
"When you lose those two guys it's difficult, you know Jeff went into the game, it was a short week he really didn't have a lot of reps. We got a chance to win the game in the end with a two minute drive down by six, and you know they play three buzz, they buzz a safety down before the snap and we throw a pick six," said Bills Head Coach Doug Marrone.
"We faced adversity early on in the season and I really think it's going to make it even more sweeter in the end but you know guys just got to step up and try to make a play," said Bills running back C.J. Spiller.
Coming off the short week and the tough setback in Cleveland, the Bills now get a much needed 10 days off before their next game. Time for the bodies to heal heading into their week six matchup at home against the Cincinnati Bengals.
