After last week's disappointing season opener, the Rochester Americans have been busy this week preparing for a pair of games this weekend. Friday, they're home against Utica. Saturday, they're at Syracuse.
Losing 8-1 to Grand Rapids last Friday and then having to wait a week to play another game didn't sit well with the Amerks. They've spent the last few days making sure they play better this weekend.
"The easiest thing would have been to have a game on Saturday and get right back in the saddle and keep on pushing through, but unfortunately that's the way our schedule laid out and we're going to make the best of it and be ready to go on Friday," said forward Jamie Tardif.
"When something like that happens, for me personally, I'd rather play the next night and get all the frustrations out and just have a good game. When you have that sour taste in your mouth all week, it's not fun," said forward Colton Gillies.
